Why is it so important to select the point of sale software that we are going to run before we select our hardware?
Answer:
The point of sale software package you plan to use will have certain hardware requirements that must be met in order to operate properly. Beyond the obvious operating system requirement there are other connection requirements that must be met.
- What type of printer connections are supported.
- What type of customer display can be used.
- How does the cash drawer connect? Can it be connected to the printer or to a serial port?
Once you understand all the hardware requirements of your point of sale software package you can then go about the process of selecting the proper hardware.
